Bank of America Cyber Security Incident Manager in Addison, Texas

Job Description:

The role of the Incident Manager is to lead and coordinate the response to and recovery from information security incidents. Collaborate with appropriate business partners and lines of business to analyze and contain information security incidents. Establish oversight of information security incidents and communicate analysis, containment, and remediation efforts to all involved partners. Determine the root cause of incidents and work with stakeholders and responsible parties to remediate any identified control gaps or failures. Escalate issues to management in a timely manner with appropriate information regarding risk, action times, and root cause analysis. Maintain & utilize an incident response & recovery plans. Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5 + years of experience with Information Security related activities.

  • 3 + years of experience in an operations focused information security role.

  • ​Experience conducting analysis/investigation and containment of potential data breaches or cyber security incidents.

  • Ability to lead technical bridge lines to develop quick containment solutions to cyber-security incidents.

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a global financial institution.

  • Familiarity security vulnerabilities, exploits, malware and digital forensics.

  • This is a high stress role in a fast paced environment. Time management and personal health management are important success criteria.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • College Degree - (B.S, M.S.) in Computer Science, Communications or a related field.

  • Familiarity with network security vulnerabilities, exploits, attacks, and malware.

  • Previous incident response and/or malware reverse-engineering experience.

  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical business owners.

  • In-depth familiarity with most operating systems, particularly UNIX and Windows.

Enterprise Role Overview:

As an experienced professional, provide advice to client management with regard to moderately complex security issues. Assists in the review, development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques. Coordinates the reporting data security incidents. Provides technical support to the client and management and staff in risk assessments and implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products. Monitors existing and proposed security standard setting groups. State and Federal legislation and regulations. Identifies and escalates changes that will affect information security policy, standards and procedures. Executes security controls to prevent hackers from infiltrating company information or jeopardizing e-commerce programs. Researches attempted efforts to compromise security protocols. Administers security policies to control access to systems and maintains the company firewall. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Typically 5-7 years of IT experience.
