Bank of America Security Service Design Engineer in Addison, Texas

Job Description:

Security Service Design Engineer FTE provides subject matter expertise on Bluecoat Proxies, malware detection technology and application load balancing for analyzing end to end network traffic patterns between our client’s DMZ and the internet. Specific focus for this engineering consulting position is to understand bank certified architecture standards for latest security platforms specifically focused on Malware detection engines like Fireeye, Bluecoat proxies and also L4/L7 Application switching engines and design the infrastructure that fits into production DMZ standards and in line with expected traffic flows. This includes, but is not limited to the build, configuration, full end-to-end traffic analysis, migrations, deployment and troubleshooting of existing security platforms and any new forth coming new security infrastructure.

Required skills:

  1. Expertise is Bluecoat proxies, content filtering and other proxy technologies

  2. Expertise in designing and deploying advanced cutting edge malware detection technologies in DMZ

  3. Expertise in analyzing malware and advanced persistence threats, malware lifecycle analysis and prevention technologies

  4. Expertise in general networking and TCP/IP

  5. Expertise in Bluecoat proxies, URL and content filtering technologies

  6. Day Zero Threat Prevention technologies with emphasis on machine learning

  7. Understanding of application load balancing strategies and advanced techniques for application delivery

  8. Load Balancers like F5 GTM and LTM

  9. SSL offloading technologies

  10. Understanding of SSL Certificate Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) in the SSL Certificate and KEY management and rollover process

  11. Hands on integration and testing with SEIM tools such as Arcsight, Splunk, Palantir, Cloudera platforms

  12. Implement virtualization / ESXi technologies

  13. Radware or related L4/L7 Application switching engines

Desired skills:

Understanding of how hardware design contributes to threat mitigation

• 3-5 years of recent in depth knowledge of Blue Coat Proxy devices, load balancers, malware detection and prevention technologies

• In depth knowledge of DMZ Network infrastructure knowledge including topology, security policies, firewalls and the L2/L3 switch and router

• In Depth understanding of failover protocols and design like HSRP and VRRP

infrastructure is required

• Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols and network layer 2/3 switching and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.)

Functional understanding of SQL, SQL injection attacks, DDOS attacks and other malware attacks

• Functional understanding of diverse set of networked applications requiring application traffic management solutions, including HTTP, HTTPS, SSH
