AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a qualified Computer Operator IV in support of USMC Depot Augmentation - Albany, GA.

Analyze existing or proposed system or design data processing programs and related procedures to process data. Use a multi-step process from system investigation, analysis, design, implementation and maintenance to bring new or changed systems to meet customer's requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret program requirements, audit auxiliary peripheral units to ascertain correctness of input data, and check condition and arrangement of tapes.

  2. Coordinate inputs/data in support of meeting contractual requirements.

  3. Compile programs for programmers as required.

  4. Organize the input and output of data from the computer.

  5. Investigate and locate source of non-standard irregularities; analyze and recover program operations in complex error situations.

  6. Write minor operational programs.

  7. Comply with computer operation standards and procedures.

  8. Provide technical support to computer users and organize sequence of events in computer operation cycle.

  9. Provide general maintenance and installation support for computer equipment.

  10. Provide direct customer interface to identify and support data base requirements.

  11. Design modifications to current interface to identify and support data base requirements.

  12. Ensure general guidelines and technical standards area being met.

  13. Establish and maintain a filing system of databases for tracking and inventory of database information.

  14. Develop, process and submit data reports for technical presentations and meetings.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

Vocational/technical training beyond high school and 5-6 years of job-related experience is required. Excellent communication and analytical skills; demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Some positions may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit.

This position requires a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Common Access Card (CAC) or Rapid Gate Pass.

Must be a US citizen.
