Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a Procurement Team Leader supporting our program in Alice Springs, Australia. The Team Leader, Small Purchases Section (Procurement) will lead an effective and efficient Small Purchases Section (Procurement) Team to support JDFPG Procurement activities. The Team Leader will also provide advice to site personnel on matters pertaining to purchasing and procurement and will deliver and coordinate a range of procurement related services across the site. The Team Leader has a direct day-to-day report to the SCM Logistics Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve Team Leader, responsible for assigning procurement activities for a range of procurement processes to the Small Purchases Section Team.

  • As Team Leader , will be responsible for managing procurement priorities providing timely, solution orientated advice to stakeholders when required.

  • SAs Team Leader, will be responsible for performing procurement activities in accordance with AECOM and USG policies and procedures.

  • As Team Leader, will be responsible for expediting the delivery of supplies or services when required or directed.

  • As Team Leader, will be responsible for working with Logistic Specialists to resolve discrepancies in delivery, particularly pertaining to price.

  • As Team Leader, will be responsible for working with Accounts Payable personnel to ensure effective flow of information that will enable timely and correct payment of invoices.

  • As Team leader will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of procurement decisions and for managing the team’s effort in accomplishing this task as well.

  • Will be responsible for Approving Purchase Orders within the scope of assigned delegations and process.

  • Will be responsible for conducting requests for Quote (RFQ) activities with vendors to assist in the competitive acquisition of goods, subject to USG approval.

  • As Team Leader, will be responsible for managing / calculating relevant metrics for the Small Purchases Team (monthly, quarterly and yearly basis).

  • Responsible for reviewing procurement requests, to ensure appropriate authorization has been provided in accordance with policies and directives.

  • Must actively monitor and manage the administration and closure of purchase orders and contracts as prescribed in US Purchasing requirements.

  • Will raise concerns with procurement processes, or conflicting priorities, with the SCM Logistics Manager.

  • Will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of data within SAP of procurement related data specific to assigned procurement activities.

  • Ensure operational tasks are undertaken in a manner that is consistent with supporting the mission.

  • Other duties as directed by the SCM Logistics Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TSPV Department of Defense security clearance.

  • Current NT Driver’s License.

  • Extensive SAP knowledge and experience in the procurement business area.

  • Extensive experience with the AECOM procurement management system

  • Demonstrated effective communications skills

  • Extensive skills relevant to the Microsoft Office software suite.

  • Sound record keeping and administrative skills.

  • Ability to operate required SAP modules to an advanced level.

  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracts or equivalent experience.
