Job Description:

CACI Enterprise IT Operations has an opportunity for a Network Engineer to support a large and complex IT enterprise program.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILTIES:

As a Network Engineer you will be part of the program’s enterprise monitoring and operations support team with some of your duties as follows:

-Identify, assess, and develop detailed requirements for upgrading networks as well as re-architecting network segments in order to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth.

-Provide support service in the visualization and reporting of network, application, and server health and status information.

-Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.

-Provide oversight of enterprise management, as well as end user and enterprise connectivity framework support.

-Deliver technical/non-technical customer support and continual service improvement.

-Ensures refresh hardware, software, and firmware are compliant with applicable program policies; and regulations pertaining to EIT system security.

-Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

-Further network assist by identifying reasonable evidence for failures to prevent reoccurrence.

-Mission Assurance Support as required.

-Part of a 24x7 coverage team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and 7 to 9 years of experience.

  • IT ticket management system experience; preferably with ServiceNow.

  • An in-depth understanding of the technology associated with operating a service or platform in the cloud, including datacenters, systems, networks, load balancers, applications, and relational databases.

Desired Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Security + certified

  • ServiceNow certification

  • Experience working with IT customers within the Department of Defense.

  • Experience with large scale enterprise IT contracts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
