Position Title Electromagnetic Spectrum SME

Job Summary

Provide technical support to Defense Spectrum Organization (DSO) in DoD Acquisition, Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Strategy, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), and Spectrum Supportability efforts. Tasks include analysis of next generation Spectrum Dependent System (SDS) designs and review of related Defense acquisition documents, development/establishment of policies and standards, collaborative activities involving DSO and other government and commercial entities; and stakeholder coordination with commercial representatives who support the maturation of related concepts and technologies.

Minimum Requirements

BS in electrical engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years of job-related experience. Prior work experience in Defense Acquisition System (DAS) programs and the DoD 5000 acquisition and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes. Strong understanding of E3, EMI, EMC, Spectrum Supportability, Spectrum Operations, Electronic Warfare, EMS strategic planning initiatives, including emerging spectrum technologies, spectrum reallocation, spectrum sharing, and real-time operations programs. Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessments (SSRA) and with DoD/government and commercial EMS databases including Spectrum 21 (SXXI), Equipment Location-Certification Information Database (EL-CID), Spectrum Certification System (SCS), Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online (HNSWDO), and Stepstone. Familiarity with DoD Instructions 4650 and 3222, MIL-STD-461 and 464, MIL-HDBK-235 and 237. Database and SharePoint development skills a plus.
