Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intermediate Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Project Manager of with design development

  • Perform analyses and inspections

  • Interact with outside departments and organization

  • Develop plans, details and sections for construction drawings

  • Prepare project specifications, layouts, and calculations

  • During construction, review shop drawings and respond to contractor inquiries

  • On-site inspection of electrical and mechanical system installations

  • Perform site visits to monitor compliance with construction documents

  • Develop test procedures and review test results

  • Develop Preventative Maintenance Instructions (PMI)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, installing and testing electrical systems

  • EIT or PE Certification

  • Experience in electrical systems

  • Knowledge of power, lighting, and special systems

  • Knowledge of NEC, UL 508, and other relevant codes

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient using computer, MS Office, and AutoCAD

  • Detail and safety oriented

  • Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD (AutoCAD test may be administered)

  • RF Experience

  • Ability to climb fixed ladders that equal or exceed 24 ft and sometimes work in dusty spaces

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
