To develop and implement customer communications (signing) and product displays to help customers make buying decisions.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Train, develop and challenge staff to better live our core values and better perform the technical aspects of their jobs.
Develop a cohesive, team oriented department aimed at our mission.
Coach and advise direct reports regarding specific project issues.
Establish overall departmental direction regarding approach to work, design philosophy and ongoing goals.
Develop and monitor department and store sign budgets.
Work on special projects.
Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to VP Advertising.
Direct and indirect reports typically include 7 managers/supervisors and 8 support associates.
Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.
Typically faces situations that have a variety of interpretations and require careful evaluation.
Typically solves problems by considering courses of action within the framework of managements goals and standards.
Typically expected to provide infrequent status reports to management only as appropriate.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 9 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
9-12 years exp. store design, graphic communications, with degree in Industrial Design or Graphic Design.
Ability to communicate with variety of store operational, marketing, merchandising staff, at a variety of levels.
4-6 years experience supervision of staff.
Knowledge of sign printing techniques and purchasing, inventory fulfillment, installation, store fixture design and manufacturing.
Ability to manage multiple projects from initial concept development through design development and finalization, production and implementation.
Knowledge of project and departmental budgeting.
