Position Purpose

The Sr. Manager Space Management Operations is responsible for leading strategic and transformation initiatives that will deliver best in class performance for the space management organization

This role oversees all aspects of new technology development and deployment, system enhancements, and associate development programs related to Space Management tools and systems. This role will work directly with the Space Management leadership team in understanding and executing the strategic roadmap of future system deployments, enhancements, customizations, and talent development needs.

This role serves as a critical liaison between multiple diverse cross functional areas including IT, finance, merchandising, project management, and execution teams. Additionally, this role will partner with external organizations and lead the delivery of services in support of space management programs

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

40% Leads and facilitates cross functional project teams to develop process and technology improvements ensuring solution design and subsequent implementation are accurately documented, developed and delivered to the business teams specifications. Oversees the development and implementation of process, systems and tools that provide space planning, planograms, store plans, space analytics and other decision support tools.

20% Collaborates strategically with the Space Management and cross functional leaders to identify gaps in the current business processes, business value proposition, and leads the deployment of processes and solutions that deliver business value

20% Establishes departmental policies, processes, and operational standards, pertaining to space planning, planogram, and CAD standards. Ensures the functional teams understand and delivery work products in accordance to quality standards.

20% Leads the development of training programs for new associate on-boarding which will accelerate their understanding of our culture, processes, and tools ensuring they are well equipped to be valuable team members in their respective areas.

Nature and Scope

Position reports to the Sr. Director of Space Management

Number of direct reports – 2-4

Environmental Job Requirements

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must pass the Drug Test.

Must pass Background Check.

Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.

Education Required: Bachelors degree in business, information systems or related field. Years of Relevant Work Experience - 7

Physical Job Requirements - Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds). Preferred Qualifications - - Strong leadership skills and proven ability to make decisions, manage teams and projects, and deliver results.

  • Proven ability to manage situations that require analytical thinking, negotiation, interpretation and execution.

  • The desire to create and influence change through their behavior and enthusiasm in their work.

  • In-depth knowledge of supply and demand sides of retail, supply chain, merchandise layout and space planning practices and procedures.

  • Strong experience in information systems technology required. - Master's Degree

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Strong project management and facilitation skills

Proficiency with JDA Intactix space management suite including: Space Planning, Floor Planning, IKB, Planogram Generator, Space Automation and advanced analytical capabilities.

Experience with AutoCAD or other store planning tools preferred

Experience with Space Optimization technology

Experience with SQL, .NET, Teradata, SAS, Tableau, and web development technologies
