The Clinical Research Manager is a key member of the Physician Practice and provides leadership to one or more large practices.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Develop and maintain professional relationships with corporate and academic sponsors, clinical research organizations, community physicians, clinicians and investigators. 2. Develop, implement and oversee action plans to assure good clinical input to department from AH physicians to maximize referring physician satisfaction and collaboration. 3. Serve as Contract Administrator for research agreements ensuring that limited liability and fiscal integrity of the organization is maintained. 4. Administer outside service contracts according to organization protocols. Review all invoices for accuracy and approve on a timely basis. 5. Develop clinical research operations budget, monitor A/R and A/P accounts, and provide accurate and timely financial information to CFO. 6. Identify, recommend and recruit high level, scientifically sound research trial sponsors to promote organizations vision and mission. 7. Develop, implement and coordinate action plans to develop employee potential and growth and maximize employee engagement. 8. Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training and development of specialized personnel. Evaluate performance and recommend merit increases and promotions. 9. Develop, maintain and facilitate strong relationships with collaborating organizations administrative leadership and licensed professionals including nurses, physicians and clinicians. 10. Implement and monitor clinical policies and procedures to ensure a compliance with all federal GCP and FDA guidelines and maintain inspection readiness at all times. 11. Monitor current clinical policies and procedures to ensure a successful integration of research protocols into clinic and hospital practices. 12. Explore and implement new areas for expansion opportunities within the organization resulting in expanded collaborative referral network and new patients. 13. Responsible to evaluate, prioritize and coordinate personnel needs to ensure engagement and retention of a specialized work group. 14. Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with other organization leaders and support staff (echo, IT, business office, marketing, scheduling, nuclear medicine, EP, human resources, and accounting), the Medical Director of Research, Intervention, CHF and Imaging, and Physician PI’s. 15. Responsible for management of Clinical Research Committee with collaboration of the Medical Director of Research to ensure department integrity and annual goals are met.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: This position requires the following minimum requirements: * Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems. * Knowledge of health care administration practices. * Knowledge of computer systems and applications. * Knowledge of government and reimbursement regulations and requirements. * Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising. * Skill in verbal and written communication. * Skill in researching, preparing, and presenting comprehensive reports. * Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise. * Ability to work effectively with staff, patients, public, external agencies.

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years’ cardiac experience and four years clinical research experience required. Management experience required.
