HCA, Hospital Corporation of America RN - Trauma ICU - FT - Nights in Austin, Texas

The ICU is a 20 bed mixed Medical / Surgical ICU. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 2:1. The unit provides rotoproning/hypothermia/ventilator management/invasive monitoring of all appropriate patients. Some of the specialty equipment on the unit includes but is not limited to ZOLL TMS/KCI rotoproning beds/Vigilence II monitors/Vigileo monitoring/Datascope IABP/Camino ICP monitoring.

PICC Services: PICC nurses for insertion of PICC lines/responsible for maintaining all central line dressings. Two of the PICC staff are Sapien competent/proficient

Position Description: The position is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Supervisor of the Unit. According to hospital policies and procedures, the Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSE or REGISTRATIONS: Registered Nurse license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. If compact license held, RN is required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of their hire date. BLS is required. ACLS is required within 1 year from hire date.

1 year of critical care/trauma experience preferred. CCRN, CEN, CATN, TNCC or other national certifications are preferred.
