Our Opportunity:

Reporting to the Managing Director of Data, Infrastructure and Reporting – Corporate Operational Risk department of Charles Schwab, you will be responsible for production of corporate level reports detailing the risk environment. You will work with our internal department as well as with other contacts throughout various 2nd lines of defense to ensure that the reports are accurate and complete and that those in charge of presentation of the report have the information to properly present the report in a manner that adds value. Additionally, the candidate will work to ensure report processes are properly documented and that documentation stays up to date as the reporting needs of our reporting suite change.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with Corporate Operational Risk – Data, Infrastructure and Reporting team to support their routine reporting needs surrounding Corporate and Committee reports.

  • Data Acquisition either through systems or by reaching out to different subject matter experts to acquire data that does not exist in Operational Risk infrastructure;

  • Production of reports per a schedule, which by utilizing data that better inform decisions made by business line management;

  • Understanding any reports produced so that the candidate is able to articulate rationale and methodology around data acquisition and report production;

  • Fielding of ad-hoc data and reporting requests;

  • Working to proactively identify inconsistencies in the data prior to inclusion in reporting;

  • Work with Corporate Operational Risk – Data, Infrastructure and Reporting team to document all process related to the production of reports so that in the absence of a person key to the process, that that process can be repeated in the same manner.

What you have:

  • 2+ years of work experience in a role where report productionis crucial to success preferred

  • Independent judgment with strong analytical skills;

  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability in communicating with different business partners;

  • Self-motivated with the ability to bring projects and reporting to conclusion

  • Ability to work in an environment where routine and schedule is vital to success;

  • Prior experience working in an environment with a remotely based team

Technical Competencies:

  • Moderate to Advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint skills

  • Some SQL experience is desirable but not required

  • Understanding of a relational data model and experience in data extraction across multiple related objects/tables

  • Some VBA coding experience is desirable but not required

  • Scrum Agile methodology
