Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Construction Manager – Assistant Resident Engineer for immediate employment in the Baltimore,MD office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide initial review of administrative and engineering submittals for completeness and compliance with the contract documents

  • Use Contract Manager (CM14) software in review of technical submittals, contract drawings, tracking issues and problems to resolution

  • Coordinate communications between the contractor, construction manager and other stakeholders

  • Review incoming correspondence and draft responses on behalf of the Resident Engineer to the issue(s) identified within the correspondence

  • Evaluate contractor generated Requests for Information to verify the accuracy of the information conveyed to assist the Engineer of Record in resolution of design issues, ambiguity, conflicts, and errors/omissions

  • Assist in preparation of change order documents, Engineer’s Estimates and negotiation of change orders with Contractor

  • Assist with Schedule reviews and review of Time Impacts. P6 experience is preferred

  • Participate in review and evaluation of contractor claims and change order proposals

  • Assist in the monitoring of the Contractor’s quality program and safety programs to verify compliance with the programs as approved and employed on the project

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar

  • 7+ years of experience in construction management of buried utilities, water and/or wastewater treatment facilities

  • Must be physically capable of navigating an active construction site

  • This position requires a thorough knowledge of Construction industry business procedures and contracting practices

  • Individual must possess strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • MS Office and strong computer skills are essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Field experience in the construction of municipal wastewater facilities is preferred

  • Excavation and Structural Experience

  • Army Corp QA Program Experience

  • Experience in use of Primavera CM14
