We are currently seeking an EMC Design and Test Engineer 5.
As the lead EMI/EMC engineer, the candidate will be responsible for the complete compliance process including technical, cost, and schedule performance.The candidate will review and tailor EMI/EMCrequirements to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including EMI/EMC/EME/ESD/EMP and lightning.The candidate will develop models for interference coupling mechanisms, shielding integrity, and circuit/cable interface isolation to mitigate and control conducted/radiated emissions and susceptibility stimuli.Other responsibilities include the creation of test reports, procedures, and control plans and guidelines.
The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of EMI/EMC testing and risk mitigation techniques.Experience with TILE software is a plus.The candidate should be a self-starter, versatile, problem solver, and have a willingness to work as part of a team.Individual must be willing to travel occasionally to locations elsewhere in the corporation in order to assist in troubleshooting efforts, attend design review meetings, and work off-shift hours if necessary.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent with a minimum of 14 years professional experience or an MS with 12 years of experience or a PhD with 9 years of experience
Minimum of 9 years ofexperience in EMI/EMC compliance engineering, specializing in the areas of design & risk mitigation, test, and project management.
Strongmathematical background and analytical simulation experience
Experience working Mathcad analytical models for radiated electrical fields and to estimate parasitic coupling of EMI induced electromagnetic energy through power supplies, chassis, and electronic modules
A thorough working knowledge of MIL-STD’s 461/464/704.
Must have excellent communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Visio
Must be organized, flexible, and able to multitask in a dynamic team environment.Interact with colleagues to create modeling definitions
Technical knowledge of product qualification testing
Experienced with lab test equipment including receivers, spectrum analyzers, generators, amplifiers and antennas
The willingness and ability to occasionally work off-shift hours as necessary
The ability to obtainDepartment of DefenseTop Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship is required
Previous EMI/EMC design leadership experience
Current active US Secret level security clearance or higher
