Position Title Environmental Consultant II
India - Karnataka
AECOM is seeking to hire an Environmental Consultant to be based in Bangalore.The Environmental Consultant will deliver end to end environmental consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients to a high level of technical quality and to programme and budget.
Perform site inspections which will involve preparation of Environment, Health and Safety plans, completing site inspection protocols and auditing and preparing site inspection reports, and environmental reporting/permitting for the Clients;
Communicating with a range of clients environmental, Health and Safety topics for regulatory advisory including best industrial practices and be able to apply in projects with changing regulatory regime;
Carrying out Due Diligence assessments/audits, reviewing data received and preparing audit reports as per international standards or guidelines such as ASTM Standards, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007, IFC Sustainability Framework, Asian Development Bank Safeguard Policy Statement, JICA Guidelines, etc.;
Prepare environmental reports such as site conceptual models and manage tasks delegated by Project Managers, which may include, oversight of subcontractors and tracking of key performance indicators;
Collaborate and support remediation project managers and technical advisors on environmental site investigation and remediation;
Able to develop, integrate and implement management systems programs and able to undertake management systems audits;
Able to independently deliver projects or under the guidance of Project Manager(s);
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and central regulations to ensure compliance;
Actively support team for development and submission of proposals/Expression of Interest(s)
Able to travel to project locations within the country and region
Assisting with research projects which will involve reviewing scientific data, and disseminating the information to the project team.
The candidate requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of AECOM
Practical experience of environmental science related work. This may include experience with Environmental Clearance, Licenses, Permitting, and auditing.
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. environmental engineering / science/ environment management, Geology).
Lead Environment, Health and Safety, Social Accountability Lead Auditors (Preferred)
Proficient in English as working language
Experience ranging from 2-5 years (preferably in consulting field)
Detailed oriented with strong organizational and excellent communication and writing skills
International/Regional working experience
Excellent communication skills
Prior experience in similar projects.
