What you’ll be doing...
Verizon’s Supply Chain Services is transforming the Global Strategic Sourcing Group and seeks dynamic Sourcing Professionals who are interested in joining our team. This position will play a lead role in supporting Verizon's cost savings and revenue generation business goals, through the sourcing process for Verizon’s highly visible, Multi-billion dollar Advertising and Marketing categories.
A key aspect of the Sourcing role is building collaborative relationships with partners & suppliers, as well as a maintaining a thorough understanding of the business. The candidate will actively manage multiple time-sensitive projects, and effectively interface with all levels of management.
Earns the business partner’s respect and serves as a Trusted Advisor
Collaborates closely with key business partners to understand their priorities and challenges, assess and manage expectations
Plans and proposes strategies that best support the business, create efficiencies, and provide outstanding performance
Partners with the business to eliminate maverick spend and lead process throughout workflow, to include LOA guidance, negotiation and execution
Works with Cross Functional Teams (CFTs) in determining the business and technical requirements and assists in drafting language to translate them into requirements for related documents (i.e. Statements of Work (SOW) and/or Request for Proposals (RFPs) for distribution to Verizon’s Contract Managers and/or Suppliers.
Assists Sourcing Specialists with the development of strategic sourcing RFP’s and participates in evaluation of Supplier responses.
Participate in contract negotiations regarding business and pricing terms with Suppliers.
Assists with the sourcing process in order to drive consensus on critical supplier selection actions
Conducts analysis of supplier proposals and present evaluation of responses to cross functional teams for consideration and selection
Participates in determining and analyzing supplier qualifications
Partners with internal business partners to participate in contract negotiations with incumbent and potential new suppliers
Apply critical thinking skills to propose sound business recommendations
Ability to solve problems to ensure business and financial issues result in sound recommendations
Works with Business Partners to resolve less complex supplier related business issues
Monitor contracts that are reaching expiration and work with the business partners to take necessary action for renewal or termination.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Contract Management and/or Marketing.
Academic and/or professional leadership experience.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite applications (including PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing processes, policies, and procedures.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills and work independently to manage priorities.
Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
Strong team leadership skills.
