Verizon Director, Investor Relations in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
Provide leadership to the Investor Relations team in developing and executing the IR strategy and global IR program. The primary operating objective of the IR program is to educate and update investors and analysts about the company to achieve a fair relative stock price. The program must accurately represent and reflect the company.
Supervise the creation and maintenance of earnings and valuation model for Verizon and peer companies leveraging skills in accounting, finance and economics.
Understand, monitor and report on the nuances of Verizon and peer stock performance in relation to the overall market. Develop and maintain internal and external benchmarks related to financial and stock performance.
Provide feedback to the senior leadership team on macro and sector trends as well as investor sentiment.
Develop and maintain relationships with sell and buy side analysts and respond to requests for data. Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of investors’ perceptions and opinions. Review, summarize and report on sell side analyst research reports and analyst estimates.
Analyze competitor performance to create industry trend reports. Actively track market views through published research and provide structured feedback to management. Prepare internal reports on peer analysis and sell-side analyst estimates.
Lead the preparation of presentations and messaging materials for senior management and for use in the quarterly earnings process.
Stay current on the strategy and operations of the Verizon business units through collaboration with other departments. Develop and update messaging materials to accurately reflect strategic priorities and investor messaging
Evaluate industry-related news.
Provide staff development to the team.
Manage vendors for IR tools.
What we’re looking for...
Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economic, other quantitative field or equivalent experience
7+ years of varied financial experience in wireless, wireline and corporate
Working knowledge of and high degree of interest in equity markets, securities regulations/disclosure requirements, and IR practice
Solid understanding of Verizon’s business strategy and trends in the telecom industry
Outstanding analytical/financial and data management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite of tools
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable around senior executives
High energy, self-motivated, creative and organized
Attention to detail and a strong focus on teamwork
Ability to be proactive and work independently
Ability to adapt to change, reprioritize, and multitask
CPA, CFA or MBA degree
Equity or capital market experience
Experience with Bloomberg or FactSet
Professional experience in an analytical/quantitative business role
