Verizon Director of Leadership Development in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
The Director Leadership Developmentwill lead a team responsible for the design and delivery of management and leadership development programs and tools for our global employee population. Verizon’s leadership development programs improve critical general management leadership capabilities and grow bench strength of leaders at all levels including front line, leaders of leaders, high potentials and executives. In addition, the Director will play a leadership role in creating, designing and building out a corporate leadership development center located in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Lead a team of developers, facilitators and program managers responsible for global, enterprise-wide leadership development programs
Leverage resources of the team and across the business to achieve the greatest impact
Identify trends and best practices, and create innovative next practices in leadership development
Partner with the broader learning and development community, HR, vendors, internal and external thought leaders to identify and clarify development needs and build and deliver effective experiences
Create overall strategy for new leadership development center including: defining the overall learner onsite experience, quality and type of content, optimal use of center resources, leader in residence program, building the VZ leadership brand, leveraging cross program interactions and ad hoc leadership events and speakers
Engage leaders as program sponsors, co-facilitators, guest speakers, and reception guests to enhance programs
Provide leadership develop program design and delivery support for specific employee populations: new hire/new to role; rotation college hire; business unit functional leadership academies; business unit specific emerging leader programs, diversity top talent programs, etc.
Select and manage external vendors to assist with identifying, customizing, and/or developing and delivering impactful leadership learning content
Manage HR memberships to maximize ROI and benefit to the HR organization
Direct others in training evaluation and ROI analyses to support program adoption
What we’re looking for...
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 12 years’ experience designing, developing and/or delivering leadership development programs including classroom, virtual and e-learning
Experience leading a team and influencing all levels of leadership
Experience with vendor selection and management
Experience in designing, building, and leading a leadership development center
Ability to effectively function in a fast paced environment with multiple strategic projects
Highly collaborative and ability to influence and manage within and across teams
Highly effective oral and written communication skills
