Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Analytics team at Verizon needs skilled experts in data analytics focusing on predictive and prescriptive modeling, descriptive and diagnostic analytics, data mining, simulation and visualization to support decision making at tactical and strategic levels.

Cslt-Pred/Presc Analytics is part of a leading Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics team responsible for

  • Supporting day-to-day and tactical analytics needs of the operational teams such as defining the SKU selection for Fresno based on Market Basket Analysis predictive modeling and building advanced customer segmentation by using clustering techniques and natural language processing of customer call logs

  • Driving strategic efforts across the supply chain organization, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize processes and procedures that lead to improved revenue, device life cycle management through higher inventory turns, working capital optimization and operations cost reduction.

Qualifications

Cslt-Pred/Presc Analytics interacts with various Verizon teams like supply planning & distribution (supply chain), distribution & transportation (supply chain), forecasting (device marketing), assortment planning (device marketing and merchandising). He/she is a highly skilled expert in quantitative modeling, optimization, statistics, data mining and visualization. The role requires familiarity and hands-on experience with SQL. Knowledge and experience in optimization software (e.g., CPLEX, OPL), statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS or SPSS) and data visualization software like QlikView, Tableau or Excel are preferred. In addition, what-if analysis tool like ExtendSim simulation modeling is a plus. Cslt-Pred/Presc Analytics should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be proficient in engaging and influencing large teams and functional leaders.

Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Economics or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in developing and implementing analytical models is required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required

  • Proficiency in engaging and influencing large teams and functional leaders is required

  • Skills and hands-on experience with SQL are required

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS or SPSS) is required

Preferred

  • Coding skills (for personal use) in a general-purpose programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java or Python)

  • Familiarity and experience with data visualization software like Qlik, Tableau or Excel

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with optimization models such as Linear & Integer Programming, Network and Routing Optimization, and tools such as OPL and CPLEX to solve such problems

  • Familiarity and hands-on experience in simulation software packages (e.g. ExtendSim)

  • Familiarity and experience with creating analytical data sets

Experience and competency in supply chain management
