Verizon Senior Financial Analyst - Financial Planning and Analysis in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

What you’ll be doing...

The Metrics and Analytics Sr. Analyst position will be responsible for providing both complex and ad hoc analytics related to Verizon’s customer payments across lines of business.

  • Maintain monthly reporting to accurately capture customer payments and the costs associated with these payments. Support the business and finance transformation in reducing the fees associated with payment processing.

  • Support senior leadership through the maintenance of scorecard reporting related to the payment team (encompassing all lines of business). Ensure that performance is measured accurately. Design baseline metrics to measure success of transformative initiatives.

  • Perform ongoing analysis of credit card brand performance. Help develop analysis around new methods of payment (ie. Paypal).

  • Maintain complex forecasting models regarding payment growth, trends and costs. Produce detailed and meaningful ad hoc analytics in support of business needs. Assist in providing detailed projections to support contract negotiations. Assist in providing detailed financial support for business cases related to both new products and new payment strategies.

  • Be able to handle the complexity of the daily activities and think both tactically and strategically to deliver quick but efficient solutions to meet business needs.

  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage continuously changing business needs.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in telecommunications payment strategy or Bill to Cash operations.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • MBA degree.

  • Strong data and business analytics skills.

  • Strong financial modeling skills.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Strong desire to learn and contribute to success of team.

  • Knowledge of SQL and other programming languages.

  • Time and project management skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Good written and oral communications skills.

  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
