Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Superintendent or Mechanical Superintendent to be based in our Beaumont, TX location.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Assures a strong “safety base” is incorporated in all aspects of the work

  • Assures craft employees receive required training and certifications

  • Performs Condition Assessments and Behavioral Observations of work areas and employees. Corrects noted deficiencies and implements corrective measures.

  • General inspection of the workers and their performance, work plans, and safety.

  • Audit JSA crew meetings

  • Coordinates work activities with other Discipline Superintendents and Plant Area Coordinators

  • Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels

  • Project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.

  • Interprets, organizes, and coordinates work assignments.

  • Oversees and contributes to planning, estimating and field execution.

  • Monitors craft performance relative to budget, schedules and deadlines

  • Monitors manpower utilization, effectiveness, and productivity.

  • Enforces work rules.

  • Implements day-to-day work assignments through the craft general foreman.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Assistant Mechanical Superintendent:

Education:

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

Experience:

  • 6 years experience in field construction supervision with a mechanical background, including 2 years experience in the Assistant General Superintendent position or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Oil & Gas Refinery experience.

  • Oil & Gas industry experience in Turnaround or maintenance operations

  • Previous experience managing of up to 100 direct hire union building trades union craft employees

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project controls tools – Cost control and reports, change order processes, earned value reporting and evaluation process, productivity measurement

  • Computer proficient in MS Office

  • Must demonstrate excellent safety record

Mechanical Superintendent:

Education:

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

Experience:

  • 8 years experience in field construction supervision with a mechanical background, including 2 years experience in the Assistant General Superintendent position or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Oil & Gas Refinery experience.

  • Process industry experience in Turnaround, construction or maintenance

  • Management of up to 100 direct hire union building trades union craft employees

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project controls tools – Cost control and reports, change order processes, earned value reporting and evaluation process, productivity measurement

  • Computer proficient in MS Office

  • Must demonstrate excellent safety record

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with national labor agreement GPPMA.

  • A minimum of 8-12 years of construction and project related experience.
