Field Application Engineer – Electrical Sector
Location: Bologna, Italy
The Application Engineer has the primary responsibility for providing advanced technical and applications support for Eaton products in pre- and post-sales activities. The activities include delivering training and support for products and applications to front line sales, integrators, distributors, service personnel, and end customers; contributing to the business’ growth with new development programs, existing product enhancements and changes, and providing direct customer support for Engineered to Order (ETO) solutions.
The incumbent must be able to represent Eaton and work well with people at all levels of the customers’ organizations. Internally, the incumbent will work with Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Engineering, Product Management and other Eaton teams as required. Some travel to customers, field sales offices, and tradeshows may be required.
Define customer requirements for application development. Implement custom application to products through utilizing the tools available within the product portfolio.
Provide direct support to sales and customers in the pre-sales and post-sales.
Ability to communicate with external customers and internal teams, and take ownership to identify and fill knowledge gaps.
Support sales to collect requirements and develop product applications for new and existing customers.
Collect VOC in the frontline during the day-to-day interaction with customers.
A team player that works with cross-functional teams in sales & marketing and the customers to deliver complete solutions
Bachelor’s degree in from an accredited institution
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience with electronic control equipment and Codesys programming.
Familiar with Codesys standards
Familiar with CANbus and similar bus technologies
Analytical problem-solver capable of interfacing with customers
Ability to perform on-site troubleshooting and analysis of customer problems and deploy solutions rapidly under pressure
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel (up to 50%)
