Job Description:

Business Effectiveness & Governance Executive

The executive reports to the COO of US Trust and is responsible for a team that drives multiple, complex projects in support of strategic Risk, Compliance, and Audit matters affecting the business. The executive will work closely with senior management of US Trust, GWIM and enterprise partners in developing strategies to implement changes and improvements consistent with enterprise and LOB Risk profiles. The position requires the ability to develop and implement action plans to improve on policies, procedures, and processes for the LOB.

Ultimately this work is intended to build and create world class, sustainable processes for the business that fully meet regulatory and other Risk & Compliance standards. This position requires a thorough knowledge of the US Trust business units, as well as familiarity with enterprise LOBs. The position requires a high degree of coordination with various LOBs across the broader enterprise regarding policies, procedures, and operations that impact US Trust and GWIM.

This position carries significant exposure to, and interaction with, enterprise senior leadership and regulators. As such, the executive should have the ability to convey a senior perspective, and establish credibility at all levels of the organization. The ability to demonstrate a broad perspective, while simultaneously managing at a very detailed level, is critical. In working with the enterprise, this leader should be able to deliver results with tight timeframes for regulatory deadlines, and do so by influencing leaders throughout the LOB to take action.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • AML Program Management

  • QAQC Program Management

  • Audit Program Management

  • Training Steward

  • LOB point of contact for OCC exams and other regulatory reviews

  • LOB representative on Committees – include GWIM Risk, Litigation, Reg W, Fraud, and others

  • LOB owner for Enterprise Program Office initiatives that impact US Trust (SCRA, Bankruptcy, Notary, Volcker, and more)

  • Management of a team of associates performing various roles in support of the team’s responsibilities, including senior manager roles

The qualifications should include:

  • Seasoned interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Proven strong communication skills (both written and oral) at senior levels

  • Proven ability to generate followership and engagement from others to address issues and drive change

  • Desire and bandwidth to take ownership of and prioritize multiple projects/requests

  • 5+ years of overall experience in the Wealth Management business, preferably 1+ years of strong knowledge of US Trust

  • 5+ years of working knowledge or experience with Risk, Compliance, or Audit issues

  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • Analytical mindset and quantitative skills sets, with some experience working with systems and technology tools
