Job Description

Boston, MA - Olympus is the market share leader with a 60-year history of developing products that are used to diagnose and treat GI diseases. The Regional Marketing Manager, Fellows Engagement has the opportunity to work with our highly tenured sales force to continue to dominate the GI space with our entire endoscopy product offering including capital equipment like our flagship platform, EVIS EXERA III and our disposable EndoTherapy devices. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and management of new long-term ROI programs to build and strengthen the foundation of endoscopy through fellows engagement and direct-to-patient marketing. He/She will develop target lists for fellowship programs and establish new and current technologies as standards of care. The incumbent will build close relationships with teaching institutions and build professional relationships with HCPs as well as professional medical organizations and societies. He/She will also interact closely with the Endoscopy sales organization to expand the reach into fellowship programs and colorectal cancer screening awareness. The incumbent will also be the resource for the Marketing teams and Sales on relevant clinical research, clinical case studies, white papers, etc. In addition, he/she will be the go-to person to better understand competitor information and emerging technologies in the GI endoscopy field. Job Duties:

  • Act as a product and technology expert to drive adoption of EVIS EXERA III, ScopeGuide, ET devices, EUS capital and devices, service and specialty scope product lines.

  • Manage HCP relationships within their area and help to identify where Olympus requires HCP expertise to support the business. (While adhering to our code of ethics and compliance guidelines).

  • Develop and manage long term initiatives to build loyalty with our customers, including fellows programs and direct to patient marketing.

  • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of the market, and translate that understanding into strategies that will build a solid foundation for the future of Olympus in endoscopy.

  • Conceptualized, develop and execute promotional programs for fellows (physicians in training) that highlight products from the entire Olympus endoscopy product line. Programs will encompass every phase of fellowship from first exposure to a scope to advanced procedures such as ESD.

  • Develop and manage relationships with fellows and create a consistent hand off experience for the sales organization, with a goal of capitalizing on a fellow’s recruitment budget being used on Olympus equipment and devices.

  • Develop and maintain a website for fellows to access information on Olympus products and fellows support, which includes a forum to submit case studies, blog posts from practicing HCPs and a room configuration for a GI suite.

  • Serve as the expert for Direct-to-Patient marketing programs that empower physicians to market their practices and drive an overall increase in CRC screening rates.

  • Meet with physicians, GPOs/IDNs, administrators and advocacy groups as needed to introduce and execute physician lead DTP initiatives.

  • Ensure the sales organization and overall organization follows the strict guidelines established by Olympus leadership.

  • Secure business intelligence to provide input and feedback to marketing group for key growth areas.

  • Attend medical and industry conventions to meet with HCPs to obtain voice of the customer (VOC), learn of competitive products and positioning, and stay current with developments in the field.

  • Proactively identify sales and marketing opportunities and develop pursuit plans and strategies.

  • Provide the sales organization with educational support, marketing resources and guidance on target segmentation and available promotions.

  • Work with product marketing and professional education to define HCP needs for the safe and effective use of Olympus equipment.

  • Champion professional education courses that are created specifically for fellows.

  • Proactively stay informed of relevant clinical studies, papers and other pertinent information and provide an update to product marketing at least once per month.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or healthcare disciplines or equivalent experience is required; Advanced Degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare marketing and/or sales and/or clinical experience is required.

  • Experience in developing and managing HCP relationships is preferred.

  • Experience in launching new technologies and products is necessary.

  • Proven ability to develop and grow business based on procedure-focused sales is essential.

  • Demonstrated success in developing accounts and establishing new procedures in fellowship training programs is desired.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing plans and lead change.

  • Ability to interpret trends and data, translating the information into actions and improvements is essential.

  • Ability to manage, direct and coordinate sales groups and corporate resources is necessary.

  • Must have experience in interacting with a diverse cross-functional team, strong prospecting skills, self starter, capable of independent action, detail oriented, multi-task/time management, ability to internalize technical concepts, products and services.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills at all levels are essential.

  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and tradeshows is necessary; some international travel may be required.

  • 80% travel is required (4 field days, 1 office/administrative day).
