The Ambulatory EHR team is responsible for the development and implementation of HCA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) program. Compliance and achievement of Meaningful Use under the HITECH Act is key component within the EHR program. This team provides materials that promote program awareness and training initiatives for EHR systems and other clinical services.
TheInstructional Designerworks with stakeholders across the enterprise, as assigned, to define learning needs and identify optimal learning solutions. Works independently or, as part of a team, to conduct needs assessments and assists project teams with implementation plans by applying knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and High-Impact Learning throughout the ADDIE process. Utilizes web-based authoring tools as needed to create learning experiences that may be delivered in-person, virtually, and/or online.
TheInstructional Designeris responsible for the design and development of engaging, effective online courses, and learning activities. This includes working collaboratively with cross functional teams, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Owners, Project Management, IT&S, and others as needed.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position).
Develop, revise, and maintain content-specific, competency-based, and operational-based education programs as assigned, in conjunction with experts from the field
Maintain business acumen, understanding the strategic direction and operational performance requirements of assigned customers
Simultaneously manages multiple projects and assignments of various scales
Produces course outlines based on the learning product's objectives
Participates in generating ideas for engaging learning activities
Produces storyboards, wireframes, and other materials to communicate user experience requirements
Select the appropriate instructional strategies and knowledge transfer solutions for instructor led, web based, virtual classroom, mobile, online and blended learning delivery
Plans, designs, and develops courses and instructional material using learning technologies expertise, creating exceptional interactive learning experiences that meet the instructional intent and optimize delivery options for HCA’s Clinical Services Group and supporting teams
Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills
Socializes, suggests, and improves processes, standards, and best practices, as needed
Researches customer needs, recommends appropriate materials and delivery methods
Write scripts for voiceover and video production to support distance learning initiatives
Minimum of 1 – 3 years of training, development and delivery experience required (including instructional design, adult learning principles, and technology-based education)
Healthcare background preferred
Distance learning experiences preferred
Undergraduate degree required
