QGC is one of Australia's leading natural gas producers, focused on developing Queensland's world-class onshore gas reserves. We will supply more than 75 petajoules of gas to Australian customers in 2017, representing more than 10% of east coast gas demand and 40% of Queensland demand. QGC has supplied the domestic market since 2006 and international customers since 2014.

QGC produces natural gas from wells drilled into coal seams in the Surat Basin. Our operations include more than 2,600 production wells, 24 field compression stations, six central processing plants, two water treatment plants and a two-train LNG export facility on Curtis Island. Shell is the operator and majority interest holder in the QGC venture.

Job Description

TheCompliance & Reporting Advisorposition is a key role in our business,and is responsible for the preparation and submission of scheduled regulatory environmental deliverables, provide support for assurance activities and to ensure compliance with environmental regulation and Shell requirements.

The key deliverables of this role are:

  • Coordination and tracking the management of deliverables from associated environmental permits and approvals at state and federal level.

  • Preparation and submission of annual environmental returns to state and federal government agencies

  • Preparation and submission of regulatory notifications as required by approvals.

  • Support planning and delivery of both internal and third party Environmental inspection, audit and assurance program, including development of terms of reference, audit reporting and scheduling.

  • Support the preparation and delivery of documentation required under QGCs ISO 14001 Certified Environmental Management System

  • Communication and engagement as required across all functions of the business to deliver compliance obligations

  • Provide support and advice on any changes to regulation, legislation and policy.

  • Record and maintain information within QGCs compliance database.

  • Drive culture of environmental compliance and continual improvement within QGC’s staff and contractor

  • Promote and implement a safety culture including adherence to Shell Life Saving Rules


The candidate we are therefore seeking for this position, will have;

  • A degree(s) or equivalent in a relevant science or environmental science discipline or environmental law/legal.

  • Demonstrable experience in a role dealing with environmental regulation, environment planning and/or implementing environmental management plans or permits and approvals.

  • Knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation and policies

  • Experience in the onshore CSG industry is desirable.

  • Effective organisational and networking skills.

Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to work effectively in/and across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining a high work level of work ethic, being able to work autonomously and being passionate about diving our environmental performance
