About the Business Line


Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM’s Calgary office is currently seeking a full time junior GIS Technologist to join our team of young and dynamic professionals within our Environment Business Line.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing day-to-day support for the Environment business line, a team which provides services in remediation and reclamation, air quality and noise assessment, permitting and impact assessment, and geotechnical engineering

  • Preparing figures in support of technical reports and permitting applications

  • Assisting with coordinate transformations, spatial analysis and geostatistical support

  • Maintaining GPS units

  • Making an effort to keep up-to-date with changing technologies and procedures for GIS Professionals both within and outside of AECOM

  • Potentialy occasional field work

  • Working with the Environment team on a wide variety of major infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, and renewable energy opportunities

  • Interacting with and supporting other business lines (Water, Transportation, etc.) and offices across Canada

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree

  • 3+ years' experience

  • Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Desktop and Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst

  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset
