Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Manager, Finance in Carlsbad, California
This position is an integral part in supporting the fast-growing Antibodies and Immunoassays (AIS) business unit within the Biosciences Division (BID). The role will provide insight into the financial performance of the business, while providing financial support to translate strategy into business tactics. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the financial analysis, planning, and reporting activities for AIS, and will partner with the business leaders to develop actions and recommendations to enable the business to achieve its financial objectives.
Key Objectives of the role:
Manage the AIS financials and provide key insights to the business to drive actionable opportunities for growth
Support financial reporting and monthly / quarterly close process for business unit
Serve as finance lead for new product launches & Licensing / M&A opportunities
Provide coaching and development to 2 analysts, based in Vienna, Austria and Rockford, IL
Partner with finance functions across LSG to drive improvement throughout the AIS P&L (Operations, Commercial, etc)
Coordinate with Product Management, R&D, and Market Development to provide the business with analytics needed to drive growth and take market share
Minimum Qualifications (must have)
BS Degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience
Ability to work with management at all levels and lead major projects and initiatives
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Excellent analytical skills that lead to actionable growth opportunities
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across the organization
Significant experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)
MBA and / or CPA preferred
Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Planning, CMR, SAP and E1 a plus
