Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineering Manager in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will manage and direct system engineering staff and activities associated with Structures, Systems and Components in compliance with processes, procedures and contract requirements. Provide management direction for the section or group by organizing, planning, directing and controlling budgetary, and human resources including annual and long-term planning cycles, oversight of spending trends, conduct of personnel reviews and informal feedback discussions, and annual merit planning. Provide management direction for the section or group’s day-to-day operations. Ensure operational integration of the section or group’s functional units and assure effective interface with other NWP organizations, the CBFO, various stakeholder organizations, and corporate organizations. Resolve complex issues involving working with people. The broad scope of this section requires the incumbent to apply a high degree of analytical and interpretive thought processes. There is particular importance in accurately assessing risks and consequences related to near-and long-term operations, safety, and environmental compliance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline.

  • Fifteen (15) years of related engineering experience within functional activities including system engineering design or construction.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of management/supervisory experience.

  • Three (3) years nuclear project experience is preferred.

  • Experience/knowledge of working with DOE Orders, regulations, national codes and standards, and laws.

  • Engineering knowledge of relationships between decision requirements, documentation, and plant configuration.

  • Prior WIPP experience is preferred.
