Job Summary:

Responsible for the remote installation, configuration, and testing of

managed services equipment for new customers, and replacement equipment

for existing customers. Acts in compliance with industry and Company

technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. Works under

general supervision and may require training and detailed instructions

for assigned tasks.

Core Responsibilities:

- Perform configuration, turn-up, and testing of managed services

equipment for day 1 customer installations and day 2 support of existing

customers.

- Work with off-net providers to troubleshoot connectivity issues with

circuits or vendor supplied Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).

- Use various software systems and applications to effectively

troubleshoot issues and equipment relating to underlying network

connectivity, as well as to identify configuration and other related

issues with managed services equipment.

- Train and mentor supported teams.

- Collaborate with and foster relationships with internal and external

customers.

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work

nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Title: Install Engineer 1

Job Summary:

Responsible for the remote installation, configuration, and testing of managed services equipment for new customers and replacement equipment for existing customers. Assists field technicians in all aspects of new installations and break/fix dispatches. Meets departmental Key Performance Indicators for the assigned role. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. Able to work under general supervision and may require training and detailed instructions for assigned tasks. Provides a great customer experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Configuration, turn-up, and testing of managed services equipment for Day 1 customer installations
  • Configuration, replacement, repair and testing of managed services equipment for day 2 break/fix support of existing customers
  • Diagnose and repair any on-net circuit or modem configuration issues preventing managed equipment installation
  • Work with Off-net providers to troubleshoot connectivity issues with circuits or vendor supplied Customer Premises Equipment (CPE)
  • Use various systems and applications to effectively identify and troubleshoot issues and equipment relating to underlying network connectivity, as well as identification of configuration and other related issues with managed services equipment
  • Training and mentoring of supported teams
  • Clearly communicates job status while work is ongoing and provides clearly communicated steps to the appropriate teams when further action is needed after completion of onsite work
  • Collaborates with and fosters relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Suggests improvements to documentation for individual customer solutions. Able to communicate at all levels of the organization clearly and effectively
