Job Description:

CACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our DHS Secure Enterprise Network Systems, Services & Support (SENS3) team in the National Capital Region (NCR) and throughout the United States. CACI will provide a variety of IT services through SENS3 including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services.

Functional Responsibility:

Works on a team responsible for managing the HQ infrastructure and the Operations and Maintenance of the Network Infrastructure. This infrastructure includes multiple, disparate Tier 1 and Tier 2 network architectures. Individual shall operate, monitor, install, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices and services. Establishes and maintains smooth operation of network equipment and systems (to include operating systems, software and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations, maintains system integrity, and upgrades systems and/or network equipment as required. May create and document new methods supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures. Consults with support teams, help desks, customers and other technical staff in the resolution of problems, coordinates and performs operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers, identifies recurring problems and recommends steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems.


  • Monitor network operations on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis

  • Provide technical expertise to resolve network and other operational events and trouble tickets

  • Deliver notifications and alerts of critical operational events and incidents

  • Perform end-to-end performance monitoring and system management using Riverbed SteelCentral suite

  • Provide an engineering resource to support data communications and related applications requirements. Conduct customer surveys to determine LAN/WAN and network requirements. Manages and assists in the configuration of routers, switches, etc.

  • Provide administrative support of installed systems/networks; assigning and controlling addresses, revising system configurations.

  • Recommend and implement network policies and procedures, and ensures adherence to security procedures

  • Provides compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.

  • Aids and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.

  • Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.

  • Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals).

  • Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.

  • Troubleshoots network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network



  • Current TS/SCI Clearance

  • DHS EOD Eligible (Active EOD preferred)

  • Knowledge of network analysis tools CISCO Network Configuration Manager, CiSCO Adaptive Security Device Manager, Net Flow, Simple Network Management Protocol

  • WAN Troubleshooting / problem determination skills

  • LAN troubleshooting / problem determination skills (Ethernet, HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, etc.)

  • Knowledge of CISCO firewall/VPN equipment, (Adaptive Security Appliance, etc.), NEXUS Data Center Architecture, CISC ASR, and VSS

  • Knowledge of IP services (IP, Multicast, SNMP, etc.)

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of professional IT experience preferably in a federal environment and or experience in lieu of degree.
