Primary Role

  • To perform and directs a variety of tasks to assist in the efficient and reliable operation, maintenance, protection, and appearance of all pipelines, service hydrants valves, and other accessories.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform all functions of the position in a safe and conscientious manner, with constant regard for the safety of fellow employees and the general public. Erects barricades and places safety lights around work sites to protect workers from street traffic; may flag traffic as required. Ensure sites are secure before leaving.

  • Performs inspections and preventative maintenance of all booster stations, PRVs, tank equipment and sites.

  • Makes necessary repair of booster pumps and related equipment to include chemical feeders.

  • Trouble shoot, program and repair electrical, SCADA, Communication and other pumping equipment

Knowledge / Skills

  • Must possess basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions. Working knowledge of company policies, procedures and safety practices as well as regulations regarding confined spaces.

  • Must have knowledge of and comply with OSHA’s Lockout/Tagout Standard for all stored energy sources.

Experience / Education

  • 5-7 years experience with maintenance of pumping stations, electrical and mechanical equipment and systems

  • Experience with PLC/SCADA controlled systems desired

  • GED/HS Diploma


  • Must maintain valid drivers' license and safe driving record; must maintain D.O.T. certification

  • Must have and maintain a valid electrician's license; welding and machining experience desired.

  • Must successfully pass Class WD Water Treatment Plant Operator's Certification exam within one year

  • Work overtime as required and be available for emergency call outs.

  • Physical demands of the position include bending, stooping, crawling, walking and lifting at times up to 50 lbs. Pulmonary function test is required
