Bank of America Application Security Engineering Lead in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

  • Supervise the execution and delivery of application security engineering projects

  • Define, execute and manage day-to-day operations of application security support systems

  • Maintain strategic alignment with Application Security Architecture and Application Security Operations teams

  • Coordinate project engagement with business partners, including internal partners (business, technology and GIS) as well as vendors

  • Engage business partners responsively to understand business need and align resources

  • Proactively identify stakeholder concerns and issues, and engage team members to resolve

  • Escalate issues as required to appropriate levels of management

  • Prioritize incoming requests, de-duplicate, untangle and rectify overlapping and contradictory requests

  • Ensure personnel availability and allocation

  • Supervise timely delivery of reports or other artifacts

  • Develop detailed project plans and track progress

  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs

  • Capture measurements of performance using tools, systems and techniques developed

  • Manage project risks proactively, communicate with stakeholders and minimize unnecessary risks

  • Maintain project and process / procedure documentation


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with enterprise application security solutions such as Appscan Enterprise suite, HPE Fortify suite

  • Experience with source control, agile development, bug tracking, build automation, and change control platforms

  • Understanding of software composition analysis techniques and contemporary vendor offerings

  • Knowledge of the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem, big data and associated analytical tools

  • Able to read and write software in at least one programming language such as C, C++, .Net, Java, Python

  • Understanding of static and dynamic application security scanning technologies (SAST / DAST), and fuzzing

  • Exposure to application security concepts

  • Ability to manage numerous simultaneous ongoing projects

  • Technical background sufficient to engage SMEs

  • Excellent interpersonal and online communication skills

  • Organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in application security

  • Management experience including teams of 3+ Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience working in retail, technology or financial sectors

Enterprise Role Overview:

Directs multiple / major technology teams within Information Security that research, engineer, develop, implement, communicate, monitor, and maintain the information security (authentication, perimeter security, security & compliance tools, etc), & directory technology systems (software & hardware) and security policies / procedures. Utilizes in-depth technical / project knowledge and business requirements to design / direct secure solutions to meet customer / client needs while protecting the Bank's assets. Serves as organization spokesperson with other technology or business groups. Exercises independent judgment in directing staff to achieve results. Works independently with directions / goals from the Information Security Technology Executive. Typically 7-10 years of experience, including people management responsibility.
