Bank of America Data Support Sr Analyst/Metadata in Charlotte, North Carolina
Part of a team that develops, implements, and manages the adoption, alignment, and adherence to internal data management policies and standards (i.e., the Enterprise Data Management Policies and Standards) and external regulatory requirements (i.e., Basel Risk Data Aggregation Principles) with specific focus on metadata and data lineage. Team performs an enterprise function covering all of Credit Risk, and has responsibilities for the design, implementation, and oversight of data lineage for Credit Risk as well as the development and execution of a data lineage quality assurance program.
Position requires close working relationships and consultations with Credit Risk Business and Technology partners in the capture and documentation of data lineage, development and implementation of remediation plans for lineage gaps, and sustainability of compliance with EDM lineage requirements.
Key functionality includes the assistance and support of:
Data lineage subject matter expertise providing consistent interpretation of data lineage requirements, consistent design of tools, templates and approach, and consistent execution for the capture of data lineage and data flows across all in scope applications, reports, and business processes.
Establishment of governance and oversight routines related to sustainment of data lineage;
Adherence to Enterprise Data Management Policy & Standard Data Quality Control requirements (including data testing);
Relationship management with providers and consumers of Credit Risk as it relates to lineage requirements and results; and
Provide support on the establishment and execution of a data lineage Quality Assurance program within Credit Risk.
3+ years experience in one or more of the following: data management, data lineage, data controls, data mining, data quality rules, etc.
Demonstrated analytical and execution skills
Demonstrated success driving results through effective project management
Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and garner consensus from multiple partners
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence and partner with teammates across functional and organizational boundaries
Proven ability to work with technical and non-technical business teams
Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to transform complex concepts into simple and easy to understand presentations
Must be highly motivated, proactive, and a self-starter.
Excellent desktop technology skills including Microsoft Office tools and SQL
Familiarity with credit risk and risk reporting processes, preferably across wholesale and retail data domains
Experience with business process design and practical implementation
Enterprise role overview:
May manage or supervise a small group. Proactively monitor and remediate incoming data used in risk measurement and reporting. Ensure the completeness, validity, and accuracy of data on a daily basis. Work with business data users to define the use of data within risk systems. Work closely with technology to ensure the timely and accurate operation of risk models and reporting systems. Implement effective risk controls of our data processes and systems. Participate in user acceptance testing of data control processes. Work with other groups as needed, including Middle Office, Sales and Trading, Technology, Compliance, Operational Risk, and Enterprise Capital Management to ensure effective controls over data for GMRM.
