Bank of America GFC Securities Team - Senior Financial Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina
The Securities Controller Team is part of the Global Financial Control organization providing accounting support for the Corporate Treasury Debt Securities Portfolio. The primary focus of our team is to facilitate financial reporting for various external reports filed with regulatory agencies and oversight for accounting processes in compliance with GAAP. The selected candidate will gather, prepare, analyze and submit reportable data and be responsible for data quality controls. This will involve working with technology and support teams to construct and support complex reporting methodologies, improving processes and coordination with line of business support partners and regulatory reporting teams. The ideal candidate for this role will possess intellectual curiosity, proactively investigates issues, strive for accuracy and efficiency, pays close attention to key controls and can manage deliverables with strict deadlines. The position provides an opportunity to understand fixed income financial markets and products and the company’s financial systems and processes.
Our business partners include Corporate Treasury Desk, Back-Office/Middle office support teams, SEC, Enterprise Capital Management and Regulatory Reporting.
Associate in this role will be responsible for the following:
Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline reporting and reconciliations
Monitor changes to all external reporting and ensure compliance with established requirements
Establish and maintain data quality controls
Assist with the implementation of new accounting guidance and roll out changes to existing reporting routines as needed.
Analyze impact of new transactions and work with line of business support teams to ensure compliance with applicable GAAP and regulatory guidance
5-7 Years of Accounting/Finance Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting or Finance strongly preferred)
Experience with design and operation of key controls
Experience with financial systems such as SAP or Oracle
Experience with mortgage backed securities and financial markets
Understanding of Securities GAAP Accounting (FAS115, FAS91)
Advanced Excel, Modeling, Data Manipulation
Experience using Bloomberg
Experience with relational databases and SQL
Financial Regulatory Reporting Experience
Financial Statement Analysis Experience
