Eaton Corporation Human Resources Supervisor in Charlotte, North Carolina

Eaton's Satellites and Service Centers Organization has an opening for Human Resources Supervisor. The preferred location is Charlotte, NC. However, this position can also be located at any one of the following Satellites or Service Centers: Auburn WA, Aurora CO, Chandler AZ, Fenton MO, Fontana CA, Glendale Heights IL, Grapevine TX, Hanover MD, Hayward CA, Houston TX, La Vergne TN, Morrisville NC, Parma OH, Smyrna GA, Westampton Township NJ, or Windsor CT.

The Human Resources Supervisor assists the Human Resources Manager in administering plans and programs to ensure the most effective utilization of human resources to support Satellites / Service Centers objectives. Directs and advises human resources activities including employment relations, staffing, regulatory compliance, safety, and security.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Support over 400 employees in 16 remote facilities in the United States

  • Lead efforts for recruitment, selection, development and retention of entry-level/mid-range professional employees (SB 06 – SB 08); assist with staffing manager-level positions (SB09+) as needed

  • Assist with procuring and managing contingent labor through TPA BarPellam

  • Develop and deliver the master training plan, continual ongoing training programs and assist with employee career development

  • Provide guidance and direction to business leaders on HR issues

  • Assist with Corporate and Division wide requirements relating to HR issues

  • Ensure employee communications are effective and consistent at all the satellite locations

  • Maintain positive employee relations, effectively promoting Eaton’s Values & Philosophy and the “all-salaried” manufacturing concept

  • Monitor employment law compliance across the organization

  • Ensure a safe work environment and assist with managing environmental and safety objectives (MESH), Worker’s Compensation and Disability Programs

  • Assist and direct the development, implementation and administration of HR policies and programs to support each site’s business objectives and maintain positive employee relations; prepare and maintain employee guidebooks.

  • Participate and manage investigations and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues; anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend and initiate appropriate steps for resolution

  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR practices aligned with Eaton Philosophy Work Practices (EPWP) and Eaton Values ensuring continuous improvement and employee input

  • Assist with efforts for performance management and pay for performance culture (develop and administer local compensation/benefit reviews, reward and recognition efforts and deployment and facilitate performance management/reviews/feedback sessions)

  • Conduct site visits annually for each site that the incumbent has primary support responsibilities for and as needed to ensure proper support of each site

  • Assume leadership responsibilities in HR Manager’s absence

  • Additional Duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum 2 years of HR experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Position Criteria:

  • Knowledge and understanding of state and federal regulations with respect to labor laws: EEO/AA, Title VII, FLMA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, OSHA, OFCCP

  • Strong emphasis on training development and facilitation skills

  • Must have strong conflict resolution skills, leadership skills and facilitation skills

  • Must have experience recruiting for top talent, both professional and hourly positions

  • Demonstrated superior listening, verbal and written communication and human relations skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and make decisions independently

  • Well-developed PC skills and solid/effective knowledge of Taleo, Oracle, Excel, Word and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources/ Industrial Relations is preferred

  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment

  • SPHR/PHR certification is a plus
