Bank of America Risk Analysis Sr Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina
Responsible for performing data analysis and is engaged in the development of reporting related to portfolio and concentration monitoring in support of risk mitigation strategies. Develop complex data mining queries, build data visualization dashboards and automated reporting techniques to support efficient reporting and data delivery strategy. Review and analyzes trends in current population distributions to identify risks/issues and recommend strategies. May participate in or develop complex program models to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modelling. Coordinates the production of performance reports for senior mgt. Bachelor’s degree, large data experience preferred; Programming experience like SQL, SAS preferred and/or Micro Strategy, Tableau experience preferred. Minimum of 3+ years’ experience.
This position will be responsible for developing automated, routine reporting and supporting ad-hoc requests in the Wholesale Credit Risk Reporting area. This role will work closely with business partners and risk executives to gather their requirements and design reports or satisfy ad-hoc data mining needs. This role will also work with the technology team to provide them with expertise and guidance to implement new reporting capabilities, to identify and close data gaps and to participate in User Acceptance Testing of new releases in the risk aggregation systems. This role will have an understanding of internal information systems, relational database design and knowledge of how to use various BI tools to access multiple information sources for analytical purposes and report development. This role will also have working knowledge in credit and trading products.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
3+ years of Risk or Reporting/Data Management experience
Proficiency with SQL
Advanced Excel skills, including data import, pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.
Solid analytical skills - must be able to learn how to navigate systems, access data, reconcile numbers from different sources, identify discrepancies and understand drivers of change within data.
Ability to quickly assimilate complex information and provide analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and partner with team members across different organization
Proficiency with BI tools such and Microstrategy, Business Objects and Tableau
