Job Description:

A Sr Solutions Architect on the Marketing and Customer Insights Technology within Data, Quality & Control organization is responsible for designing comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements in support of a given portfolio. They will be accountable for partnering with key roles (e.g. project managers, application owners, business analysts, strategic architects etc.) to create solutions that are aligned to the architecture principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet the financial targets (cost and benefits). Within the solution development lifecycle this role will be accountable for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case. They will provide consulting during the detailed design, build, test and deploy phases, and reengaged to perform benefits realization. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Typically over 10 years of systems experience.


  • Represent Technology Strategy & Architecture in programs/initiatives

  • Assist in Work Effort Sizing with PM support

  • Support Functional & Technical Requirements gathering

  • Produce conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains

  • Ensure alignment of initiative and low level designs against the agreed architectures and technology strategies.

  • Provide continuous feedback between strategic and solutions architecture.

  • Promote adherence of designs to bank policies and standards, architectural principles and guidelines.

  • Manage tradeoffs between speed to market, quality and financial impact.

  • Ensure adherence to the architecture governance processes and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

  • May support multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Technical leadership and exposure across a broad scale of tools, technologies, and architecture models.

  • Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years industry experience with technology domain experience

  • 5+ years in enterprise, application and information architecture design

  • Understanding of service oriented architecture databases, data modeling techniques

  • Ability to create pragmatic, strategic technology alternatives which deliver short-term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction

  • Strong, proactive leadership capabilities – inspiring fellowship

  • Effectively Influence, Negotiate and Lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations across the Technology and Line of Business organizations

  • Proven experience performing similar functions in complex and large organizations

  • Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior management. Be able to articulate the value proposition of getting solutions built using sound architecture principles

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with minimal supervision

  • Excellent written, verbal and diagramming skills

Desired Skills:

  • Financial Service or Bank experience preferred

  • Understanding of industry trends and relevant application technologies

  • Experience in designing and implementing Big Data environments and solutions with Hadoop

  • Experience implementing cognitive/AI solutions

  • Experience in designing and implementing analytical environments and business intelligence solutions
