Job Description:

This role is predominately focused on: Business Support/BFO

The MLWM BFO Team is part of the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Finance organization providing direct support to US Wealth Management and PBIG.

The primary focus of the team is to provide key business performance reporting and analytical insight across all levels of the Wealth Management (Division/Market/Offices). The team acts as a trusted and strategic business partner who can influence results in a pro-active and efficient manner. The BFO team interacts with partners across the Wealth Management organization, including Division and Market Leadership, COO, HR, Technology, and Finance.

The teammate in this role is responsible for complex finance activities in a fast paced environment supporting the achievement of business goals through business analytics, financial analysis and partnering across the organization on assignments.

Activities include:

  • Reviewing monthly results and performance analysis

  • Producing, and analyzing Division/Market financials and analytics

  • Market specific initiatives

  • Implementing and enhancing standardization of reporting (P&L, organization hierarchy, business segments)

  • Actively participating in financial process improvement across the organization.

The team is composed of associates located in New York, NY Boston, MA, Hopewell, NJ and India

Enterprise Role Overview

Responsible for more complex finance activities involving implementation of strategic plans, profitability analysis, forecasting and financial reporting for a business unit or associate area. Supports achievement of business goals by working on more complex activities or projects with others within the unit and with partners. Leads projects and coordinates resources. May provide supervision to a small staff. Can manage partner relationships.

Required Skills

  • BS/BA required - Finance/Accounting preferred

  • Advanced Excel, Modeling, Data Manipulation

  • Forecast/Planning Experience

  • Strong relatable business acumen in reporting (P&L, organization hierarchy, business segments)

  • Strong business partnering experience / skills including the ability to interact, communicate and influence equally well within all levels of an organization
