This role is predominately focused on: Business Support/BFO

The US Card Finance team is part of the Consumer Finance Organization. The primary focus of the team is to provide financial support to the line of business through profitability analyses, strategic planning, forecasting, and business case development. Business partners include the Card Product, Credit Risk, Quantitative Modeling and Optimization, Marketing, and broader CFO teams.

This role will focus on Value Matrix support (the Consumer Card investment decisioning process/tool), forecasting, data analytics, and support for the bi-annual bottoms-up forecasting efforts for Consumer Card new account acquisition. The ideal candidate will possess strong excel skills, proven problem solving and analytical abilities, and a clear communication style. In order to succeed in the role, candidates should be quick learners, independently motivated, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity. SAS programming and experience with VBA/excel macros is not required; however, the candidate will have an opportunity to develop or advance these skills in the role.

Potential candidates will be expected to develop into a subject matter expert in the dynamics of Credit Card profitability and the best-in-class process/tool for Consumer Card profitability known as the Value Matrix. Development towards this goal will be expected over the tenure of the role. Additionally, the role will offer the opportunity to garner experience in business partnering (within and outside of the Finance organization), business case development, and understanding tool infrastructure and development.

Enterprise Role Overview:

Responsible for more complex finance activities involving implementation of strategic plans, profitability analysis, forecasting and financial reporting for a business unit or associate area. Supports achievement of business goals by working on more complex activities or projects with others within the unit and with partners. Leads projects and coordinates resources. May provide supervision to a small staff. Can manage partner relationships.

Required

BS/BA (Finance/Accounting Preferred)

2+ years of accounting or financial analysis work experience

Strong communication, organization, presentation, analytical and leadership skills

Analytical Abilities / Financial Acumen - Systematic application of a combination of inductive and deductive reasoning to examine information, interpret results and arrive at well-founded logical conclusions. Understanding of accounting (debits / credits)

Strong Business Partnering - Builds broad-based business relationships across the organization.

Skillfully influences peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas. Proactively surfaces and resolves conflict with minimal noise.

Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills with proven experience
