Bank of America Stress Testing Scenario Generation Sr Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina
As part of the Enterprise Scenario Planning and Execution (ESPE) Scenario Generation team, the candidate will support the macroeconomic scenario design and development process for the quarterly enterprise-wide stress testing cycles.
The team’s responsibilities include:
• Coordination with the Company’s risk identification processes to assess the enterprise’s material risks for inclusion into the customization of stress scenarios
• Partnering with the Global Risk Analytics (GRA) Scenario Generation team for the production of macroeconomic variable projections and narratives defining the scenarios
• Monitoring the stress testing usage of the suite of macroeconomic variable projections to facilitate sensitivity analysis and understanding of their downstream impacts to the balance sheet and income statement
• Effectively communicating enterprise-wide scenario details to forecasting business partners, executive management and board committees
• Driving infrastructure, process and procedures development to leverage an array of data sources to enhance enterprise and segment level strategic decisions
• Identification of areas of improvement in the scenario design process and implementation of solutions
The candidate will support the review of identified risks from the enterprise’s risk inventory, production of presentation materials of the material identified risks for scenario customization meetings, and working with GRA and sensitivity analysis reviews to reflect selected idiosyncratic risks into scenario development. Responsibilities also include supporting the Enterprise Scenario Planning and Execution Executive in obtaining executive management and senior governing body approvals for Scenario Generation proposals.
The position requires senior level interaction within the Lines of Business, Risk Management and Finance to address inquiries related to scenario generation and stress variable projections. The candidate will also support the execution of scenario generation and scenario customization enhancement initiatives to further build-out related functions within Bank of America’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) processes and capital adequacy assessment processes (ICAAP) for international entities.
3-5 years of work experience in banking, finance or accounting
Combination of economics background financial process/production/reporting experience.
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or accounting
Detail oriented with excellent quantitative analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills
Ability to effectively work under pressure and successfully manage multiple projects
Strong organization and planning ability
Understanding of BASEL III capital rules
MBA a plus
Prior stress testing experience a plus
Basic knowledge of SAS, SQL
Enterprise Role Overview:
Responsible for building, consolidating and reporting stress testing results for EST management. Performs complex analysis related to earnings, balance sheet, capital and liquidity as well as associated risk exposures. Provides analytical support for explaining business/forecast strategies in the context of baseline and stress forecasts. Reviews and analyzes trends in stress results to best understand implications both internal and externally. Understands complex interactions between economic and operational factors and their resulting impact to product, business line and financial results & position of the company. Challenges assumptions and results and is comfortable communicating and influencing business partners based on these results. Can quickly build credibility with partners. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion and independent judgment. Requires strong analytical, , influencing and communication skills. Comfortable with a dynamic, fluid work environment with tight deadlines. Experience with risk management, finance and/or accounting preferred.
