Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm-Starts June 5th, 2017 Ends August 11, 2017
We are seeking a Public Relations Intern, who is full of creative ideas and eager to contribute on a large scale. The intern will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the public relations field, provide concrete deliverables and learn from top to bottom. Public relations interns have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen sense for what makes compelling news. A PR intern is responsible for assisting with multiple projects simultaneously, such as planning marketing events, writing press releases, and compiling clips. Discretion and the ability to keep news confidential is of the utmost importance.
- Media Relations; drafting press releases; tracking social media; developing media pitches; writing blog content; researching and reading blogs and social media. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Although there aren't many of these events, you must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
-High School or equivalent; preference given to those who are working towards a degree in a Public Relations; Journalism; Communications
-0-2 years related experience.
-Strong Communication Written and Verbal Skills
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment
-Strong sense of confidentiality and business ethics
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-Comfort level with Social Media Sites
-Reliable personal vehicle as travel within the Greater Boston Region will be required.
