Marsh & McLennan Actuarial Analyst in Chevy Chase, Maryland

Job Summary:

Coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses required to develop new products, reprice0 existing products, project future results and determine financial profitability. Monitor industry developments, research and respond to information requests, and provide timely and accurate service.


Collect, analyze and evaluate experience data and prepare pricing and product management reports for multiple lines of insurance. Perform extensive reviews that require analysis of trends, factors, issues, competitive analysis, and rate level indications. Build, update and enhance workbooks and models as necessary to support changes in business. Coordinate development of actuarial database and related systems. Extract and organize data by applying technical knowledge of computer systems and programming. Assist in developing risk management advisories and other publications. Assist in development and due diligence of new program opportunities. Establish and maintain strong relationships with carrier actuaries. Communicate and collaborate with business partners in other functional areas, including marketing, finance, product development, underwriting and IT. Qualifications Position requires a four year college degree in Actuarial Science or related quantitative field such as Mathematics or Statistics. Two (2) or more years of related actuarial experience in the insurance industry. Pursuing an actuarial designation and has successfully completed at least three (3) actuarial exams. Working knowledge of commonly-used actuarial concepts, techniques and procedures. General knowledge of insurance products, pricing, rates and industry trends. Good interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining positive client and internal relationships. Strong analytical aptitude and critical thinking as demonstrated through academic experience and/or work assignments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to present technical information to clients, management and other functional areas. Strong organizational skill and ability to multi-task concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines with a quality product. Proficient skills in Excel, Access and computer programming like SAS, SQL, etc. Victor O.
