Position Title Archaeologist

The Environment Division of AECOM is actively seeking experienced, highly talented SOI-Qualified Archaeologists to assist with the field monitoring of archaeological and architectural history resources during construction of linear pipeline infrastructure in the Northeast. The successful candidate will have prior experience with construction monitoring and cultural resources protection consultation.This is a temporary position expecting to begin as early as September 2017, and likely extending into the spring of 2018.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Daily coordination with an interdisciplinary construction team
Extensive time in the field
Bachelor’s degree in science or related field
4+ years of experience in archaeology, including significant construction monitoring, data collection and Section 106 consultation experience
Experience writing and reviewing Section 106-related archaeological reports
Must have valid driver's license
Master of Arts or Master of Science degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field (SOI Qualified)
5+ years of related experience
Extensive experience monitoring pipeline construction projected desired
Ability to utilize portable digital devices for data collection (including tablet computers, smart phones and GPS units)
Experience in Section 106 coordination with non-regulatory personnel (construction workers, environmental inspectors, etc.)
Ability to follow guidance from Senior Cultural Staff and Lead Environmental Inspectors
Capacity to effectively implement agency-approved monitoring protocols and mitigate the potential for conflicts during high-pace construction schedules
