Eaton Corporation Material Handler - 3rd Shift in Cleveland, Tennessee

Eaton located in Cleveland, TN is currently hiring a Material Handler on 3rd Shift.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as back-up to other material handlers as needed in different sections.

  • Provide support for assembly section as needed.

  • Keep areas neat and orderly.

  • Safely and efficiently deliver materials as needed to various locations.

  • Maintain working relationship with internal customers.

  • Record transactions consistent with established procedures.

  • Return materials back to stock. Maintain all documentation accordingly.

  • Unload trucks and check freight bills accordingly.

  • Wear all safety equipment and observe all hygiene requirements as specified and directed.

  • Maintain equipment in a safe manner, utilizing daily checklist.

  • Coordinate movement of material.

  • Locate material when required by other material handlers, internal customers or supervisors.

  • Train new employees.

  • Work with various groups of employees in team based environment.

  • Work with Materials Department to make them aware of issues.

  • Work overtime as necessary.

  • Comply with all applicable ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures.

  • Possess knowledge of relevant ISO procedures and work instructions as well as Eaton Safety Process.

  • Know and follow established job specific and site wide health and safety procedures and rules.

  • Bring health and safety issues/ suggestions to management’s attention or correct those where possible.

  • Participate in accident & injury/ illness prevention activities: Job Safety Analysis and safe working procedures

  • Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions;

  • Participate in accident, near-miss or potential hazard investigations.

  • Keep other employees informed of health and safety practices and activities

  • Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order.

  • Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency, based on training received.

  • Participate actively by providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.

  • Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in work area.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Cleveland, TN facility will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in driving a tow motor in a manufacturing environment is preferred
