Eaton Corporation Tooling Engineer in Coamo, Puerto Rico

Primary Functions:The overall purpose of the position.

Identifies and implements strategies to improve productivity and quality of product lines under assigned responsibilities.

Essential Functions: Functions that must be performed in order to fulfill the purpose of the position as directed above.

  • Complies with the established procedures related to safety, quality, warranty, services, etc.

  • Develops and implements gauges and fixtures to assure quality of products.

  • Implements new projects.

  • Trains personnel as required.

  • Contributes to Cost Improvement Program.

  • Interfaces with Process Engineer to solve situations with non-conforming self-manufactured parts for the products of responsibility.

  • Interfaces with Project Engineers in the implementation of new projects and technology.

  • Provides the necessary tools and equipment and makes sure these are well maintained

  • Uses control and improvement techniques such as DOE (Taguchi), 8D Analysis, Pareto Diagrams, etc., to assure good quality and low non-conforming rates of self-manufactured parts. Identifies through process capability analysis, or any other sources, machinery not capable to meet expectations

  • Evaluates employees’ performance

  • Identifies and facilitates training opportunities

  • Identifies cost reduction opportunities as well as maintains high productivity levels.

  • Selects and trains personnel as needed.

  • Provides a safe environment for all employees.

  • Assures the company policies are met based on Eaton’s Philosophy and Code of Ethics

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the department.

  • Must be a proactive, dynamic, high energy, results-focused individual with strong leadership skills.

  • Develop action plans to identify tools that need refurbishing or replace and execute the plans for the acquisition of them.


Minimum Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field.

Minimum Experience: At least three to five years of experience in Engineering and Molding operation.

  • Rejection of materials
