  • Applies specialized knowledge ofengineering principles and practices across various areas and projects in thedesign, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems throughthe product life cycle.

  • Creates design specificationsconsidering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture,assembly and service.

  • Verifies design using analysis andor functional testing, interprets results, drives decisions and assesses risk.

  • Works with other engineeringdisciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues.

  • Evaluates customer needs and alignsrequirements with identified customer expectations.

  • Applies technical expertise oncomplex components or projects with minimal supervision.

  • Leads small projects or portions oflarge projects.

  • Provides technical direction for aproject or a project team.

  • Participates as a key contributorand is accountable for project success.

  • Influences at department or programmanagement level.

  • Provides input on program-relateddecisions.

  • Proposes innovative initiatives andprojects.

  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge ofengineering discipline(s) and leverages expertise on other projects.

  • Troubleshoots complex problems andrecommends appropriate actions.

  • Assists with the transfer ofknowledge; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience and knowledge ofsome or all of the components/subsystems listed above for Power Cylinder Team.

  • Strong communication skills -written, verbal, non-verbal.

  • Highly effective presentation skills.

  • Strong Project Management skills.

  • Knowledge of design and analysisprocess flow.

  • Knowledge of iDFMEA

  • Knowledge of technical requirementscreation and management.

  • Knowledge of FIRG (Failure IncidentReporting Group) and the 7-step Process.

  • Knowledge of DVP&R creation andmanagement.

  • Knowledge of D/L/P Release Process.

  • Experience in creating anddelivering design reviews.

  • Capability to drive data baseddecision making and risk assessments when limited data is available.

  • Highly effective time managementskills.

  • Ability to effectively work within acollaborative team.

  • Experience and willingness to mentorand informally coach less experienced engineers

RequiredEducation, Licenses or Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering orequivalent degree is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years Product Engineering(Design & Validation) experience with a focus in Internal CombustionEngines.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
