What you’ll be doing...

Job Description:

As a full-time member of the Verizon Enterprise Services security team, the GRC Senior Consultant will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring and coordinating understanding and compliance with privacy Laws as they relate to the Customer IT Environment and the Services. The role is exclusively client facing and requires the following primary skills: knowledge of the business and offering, knowledge of applicable laws and regulation, risk management, relationship management, and communication skills.

The GRC Senior Consultant needs to:

  • Notify Customer on a quarterly basis of Security Infrastructure end-of-life risks and make recommendations on how to mitigate risks

  • Proactively identify and report on key security risks on a monthly basis

  • Support and provide assistance with respect to, and participate in, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and other regulatory reviews and assessments, including by participating in testing, certification activities and inquiries (including follow up inquiries) as required by Customer

  • Provide oversight, monitoring and management of compliance with all applicable Customer security policies and requirements across the Customer IT Environment, including across all Towers

  • Monitor and promptly report deficiencies or risk, (i) with respect to the Customer IT Environment and (ii) with respect to compliance, including by other Customer IT Environment Providers compliance, with applicable policies as specified by Customer and Laws relating to the energy sector as well as privacy and security of data and information

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with restricted access to System utilities that have the capability to compromise production and delivery within the energy infrastructure (SCADA) and ensure security of Confidential Information

Strong ability to articulate the actual cyber security and business risk along with good report writing and client presentation skills are a must. The willingness to travel and a strong ability to learn new technologies is required.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.

  • Industry security certification(s) such as CISSP, SANS, CISA, CISM.

  • Ability to travel as necessary.

Even better if you have:

  • 7+ years of recent experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.

  • Previous experience working with external clients in a Professional Services type organization with consulting experience in the Governance, Risk, and Compliance area preferably in the energy sector.

  • Proven privacy experience, including specific experience regarding Laws and industry practice relating to the protection of Personal Information.

  • Extensive client management experience strongly preferred.

  • Detailed oriented and composed in challenging situations.

  • Strong verbal, analytical, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrable presentation skills.

  • Experience working in dynamic and fast paced environments.

  • Candidate should be able to work independently and interdependently.

  • Previous consulting experience with one of the Big 5 a plus.

  • Managed Security Services or Application Services background would be considered an advantage.
