Job Summary

The Design Services Consulting Group (DCS) of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance professional with a focus on health and safety for immediate hire in the Conshohocken (Philadelphia Area), PA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of: OSHA and Industrial Hygiene standards, construction practices as they relate to health and safety, NJ, PA and DE safety standards, industrial hygiene sampling, EHS compliance and auditing, relevant EHS permit package preparation, environmental field sampling, client interaction, report preparation, excellent client/peer communication skills and agency coordination. This position has a great potential for career growth. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers and scientists that are responsible for Health and Safety support services, EHS compliance, permitting and environmental field sampling/monitoring in the Northeast Region with emphasis in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Southern New Jersey.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide industrial hygiene, safety services and environmental compliance services to private and public sector clients.

  • Perform implementation activities for industrial hygiene, environmental health, hazard communications, safety programs and environmental permitting/reporting for clients.

  • Manage, organized and respond to internal and external IH, Safety and environmental needs in support of AECOM's projects/clients in transportation, power, construction, remediation, and field services.

  • Assist in evaluation of chemical, physical, and biological hazard exposures and implement sampling programs in accordance with OSHA, general industry, and NIOSH/ACGIH guidance

  • Assist in preparation of environmental plans, permits and reporting in accordance with USEPA and State requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, safety, environmental science/engineering, biology, chemistry, geology or demonstrated equivalent

  • Ability to be flexible to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of AECOM

  • Able to learn and effectively use IH and safety monitoring equipment

  • OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training

  • Construction Safety experience is strongly desired

  • An understanding of USEPA, PA, NJ and DE environmental regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with USEPA Resource Recovery Conservation and Recovery Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, US DOT HM-181, PADEP Act 2, PA Residual Waste, Stormwater and Tank Systems

  • Process Safety Management (PSM)

  • Able to apply, audit, and train to OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene, and safety practices

  • Experience in multi-media auditing and compliance
