Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager Field Operations is responsible for performing remote and on site balance sheet and income statement reviews of Brink’s subsidiaries to ensure proper accounting in accordance with US GAAP. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that all identified accounting adjustments and proposed accounting process changes are implemented by the Brink’s subsidiaries within a reasonable timeframe.

During the course of these balance sheet reviews, it is expected that the Manager - Field Operations will provide knowledge transfer and other essential training to local accounting/finance teams. This role reports to the Controller – Field Operations and will work closely with Corporate accounting personnel as well as with the various CFO’s and Controllers at the country level.

Position Qualifications

• Blackline Reconciliations: Review (monitoring and analysis) balance sheet account reconciliations for a pre assigned number of countries. Report the reconciliation results to BCO and to the country and provide training/clarification to the country to fix the issues found in the process.

• Consolidated Balance Sheet Analytics: Review Debt, Intangibles, and Goodwill rollforward accounts worldwide on a monthly basis, to validate the rollforward line items submitted by countries for Cash Flow purposes.

• STAT to GAAP: Review the reconciliation between the Statutory balance sheet and income statements and the USGAAP, for a pre assigned number of countries to ensure the adjustments are reasonable based on the STAT to GAAP differences in those countries.

• Blackline SSC Colombia, Panama and Bolivia administrator: Help assigning roles of responsibilities (preparer/reviewer/approver) for the blackline reconciliation web based system in these locations. Act as a SME for the tool to country users.

• Country Monitoring: Monitor, on quarterly basis, a pre assigned number of countries through a combination of quarterly reviews and targeted technical accounting reviews, and report to Corporate.

• Lease Accounting: Assist in the implementation of the new standard with timelines and milestones.

• Training: Participate in training sessions as an instructor (Blackline, US GAAP, etc)

• Corporate Policies: Reinforce and help countries to adhere to corporate policies

• Perform other duties as required or necessary (supporting SOX, TAX, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Strong USGAAP or IFRS technical accounting background

• Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience

• Experience standardizing, streamlining and improving accounting processes

• Working knowledge of accounting practices, policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, advance functions, etc.)

• Experience with ERPs (Oracle, Peoplesoft)

• Experience with Onesource database

• Hyperion Finance Management experience

• Experience working for a multinational with corporate headquarters in the US

• Experience managing the monthly, quarterly and yearly close for business operations in multiple countries in Latin America and other regions

• Speak fluently Spanish and Portuguese

Preferred Qualifications:
